Salary Range: US $ 2800-3000

Salary: According to your Qualifications, Experience and Interview.

Working Hours: Normally 9 Hours, beyond 09 Hours you will be entitle to get overtime payout $ 5-7 per Hour.

Week Off: There is No week off, you will get Time Off

Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract for Nine Months

This is renewable Contract it will be renewed after Nine months.

Cruise Name and Route: Now this is the combine hiring for multiple cruises. Your Joining Cruise’s name and route will be mentioned in your joining letter.

Cost and Charges: You have to bear only your medical cost which is also refundable with your first month salary. You have to do your medical checkup from DGFT authorized hospital only.

Processing Time: From Interview to Joining Letter/Visa, it will take two months time.

Description: The 3rd Engineer acts as Engineer Officer of the Watch, assists in the oversight of shipboard maintenance, and provides Cadet training during the annual training cruise. As a junior officer in the Engine Department, reports to the Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities

·        3rd Engineer has to maintain Planned Maintenance Schedules and machinery history records.

·        They need to take inventory and prepare requisitions for spare parts for equipment under their charge.

·        They have to review and renew notices, posters, and procedures posted in the engine room.

·        3rd Engineers have to maintain and update safety data sheets for chemicals (except those used for cargo purposes) and lubricating oils.

·        There should be no overdue maintenance or testing of critical equipment/machinery in PMS in their own areas of responsibility.

·        No critical machinery/equipment is inoperative in its own areas of responsibility.

·        No critical safeties inoperative or bypassed for any machinery/equipment in own areas of responsibility. 

·        No life-saving and fire-fighting appliances are inoperative in the engine room. 

·        No spares to be below minimum and critical spares requirement in own areas of responsibility.

 

Requirements

·        Must be more than 18 years of age.

·        Must have attained qualifying sea service of not less 36 months in the engine department of foreign going trading vessels of 750 kW or more in the capacity of any watch standing engine rating, electrician, electro-technical officer or electro-technical rating. Services performed in peripheral duties suck as Radio Officer, Purser Officer, Ship’s Clerk, Cook, Steward, Mess Man, Cabin boy, etc., are not acceptable as part of qualifying service. The decision of the Administration as to qualifying as to qualifying sea time will be final.

·        Attendance to a maritime academy that prepares seafarers to become an engineering officer; or

·        The possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering

·        Attendance to an approved Competency Course for engineer Officers

·        All candidates for Engineering Officer examinations must provide evidence of having completed:

·        Basic Safety Training

·        Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (PSCRB)

·        Medical First Aid (MFA)
